Christmas Goodies

Hello everyone, hope you all had a lovely Christmas. I did, I spent half my day at home and the other half at the BFs. I also was very lucky and got some gorgeous bits which I thought you might like to see...

This box (which really would have been a great present empty on its own!) and its contents was from the BF - he knows me so well!

Inside was a pink paisley washbag and make up brush set! Both of which are gorgeous, and the brushes are really well made.

From my parents I got this very festive scarf from John Lewis which I have worn every day since I got it!

A little pink Cath Kidston tin with lovely smelling bath goodies - almost too good to use!

A paisley button tin and mini sewing kit (from ebay) from my sister - this CK pattern must be quite old as I don't remember it in the shops - does anyone else?

Some cozy PJs (I love getting new PJs at Christmas!) and some pink bedsocks from my aunt

A very soft star flannel to go with my rose print one

And this freya duvet cover from BHS which I thought had sold out

I have been really spoilt this year and am so happy with all my presents. I have loved seeing what everyone else has got for Christmas too! And I would like to just say that I hope everyone has a very happy new year, and I will be back in 2009 with more to show!

Christmas swap

Yesterday I recieved my Christmas swap from the lovely annie - c at the Shabby Chic Cafe. Annie had wrapped it up in lovely silver tissue paper with red ribbon::


Annie had made me some beautiful handmade Christmas bunting which is so cute! I will have to find the perfect place for this!

I also got a yummy smelling berry candle, some sparkly silver snowflake decorations, some long white candles wrapped in ribbon and some Christmas chocolates!

I also got a lovely little card too!

Thankyou annie for a lovely festive swap. It is all gorgeous! I sent my swap to the lovely Lace Hearts and you can see the goodies I sent her here.

I will have to show you all the previous swaps I have recieved as there have been some wonderful handmade goodies from some very lovely people. Next months swap is Cath Kidston inspired...I can't wait!!!

Christmassy

Well as promised yesterday here are some Christmassy photos of the tree and decorations at my boyfriends house (he will be refered to as the BF from now!) As he has only moved in this year he had no decorations or tree so we have started from scratch with me making most of his decorations to fill his tree up!

Here is our santa star which was a bargain from Debenhams, and you can also see the sweet little heart advent callender in the background (I picked that...can you tell!?)

Here are some of the decs I made for the tree including the mini stockings and mitten, gingerbread man and vintage santa photo. There are a few red baubles and candy canes dotted about but most are handmade.

This little gingerbreadman is my favourite! He took ages to make, even if he is a little bit on the wonky side!

Here's the tree in full - please excuse the TV - its only a little tree (5ft) but its just right for this little corner here...

The bottom of the tree, some of the decorations are bought, like the big white star and vintage tin santa sign below. There is also some gingerbread hearts (hand decorated!) from IKEA on there too! They smell fab!

The santa that inspired me to make these: I just used images I found on the web, mounted them onto card and strung them with ribbon, I think they look just as good as the pricey version.

And a little heart garland strung across the kitchen doorway which is from John Lewis. I will show you more of the kitchen one day if you fancy? It has a very retro feel!

And thats it folks, I have no idea what I will post about tomorrow...it will be a surprise! Hope you like the Christmassy pictures! Only two days to go!

Inspired By...

Hello everyone and thankyou so much for the lovely welcome to blogland! I am hoping I can keep it up!

I thought I would show you a little something I made for my mum for Christmas. I was really inspired by these two lovely ladies and their beautiful work :: Lucy at Attic24 and Emma at Lavenderhouse who have made lovely little fabric housey pictures. This is my attempt at something similar although I am not that happy with the colours.




The housey picture is only little (about 15cm x 15cm) but it took an awful long time so I am in awe at the work that must go into them.

I have finally done it!

So here we are, welcome to my little blog. I hope it will be a blog filled with photos as that is what I love to look at on everyone else's blogs. I am a lover of all things pretty, floral and girly and hope to share some of these things with you on here! Here are some snippets of what there is to come!

This is my beautiful swap that I recieved recently from the lovely Mary Poppins who sent me a gorgeous array of floral goodies in our mini swap!

I made this little heart garland which hangs beside my bed, inspired by Debbie from the Shabby Chic Cafe (although it is nowhere near as good as hers!)

This is my bed which is looking very girly at the moment! I made the little patchwork cushion out of free Cath Kidston samples. The duvet is from IKEA and is the rosali range that I know so many bloggers love!
