Inspired by the beautiful personalised bunting made by
Mary Poppins I decided to have a go myself and make some for my cousins little girl who's birthday is next month. So here is the bunting for Ellie...

I have made it really girly, I wanted to get all my pink fabrics out and play with those. I have used a mix of two different sized polka dots, and a Cath Kidston sample I had from my trip to Bicester.

I have never made bunting before, I think I assumed it was alot of cutting and faffing around - which I am not a huge fan of!! But I really enjoyed chosing the fabrics, cutting out the flags and the letters for her name. Here are some close ups....

I used the zigzag stitch on the binding, but I really need some thicker binding as this was far too fiddly for my machine and fingers to handle (thats why I am only showing you the neat-ish bit!!)

I may make another set in boy colours and patterns for my cousins little boy as there is something very pleasing about cutting out letters and zigzagging around them!! X
